Friday was an absolutely glorious day.
I have new normals now. What I can do and what I can’t do are totally different from what they once were.
I have gained the ability to appreciate the simple pleasures of everyday life after having gone without them.for some time. Everyday is a new day. Everyday is a good day. Even when it doesn’t present that way.
I had breakfast with my datemate and then we headed out to Taitua Arboretum which is a total haven. It’s clear to see that there has been a lot of love, care and work put into creating a space where people can be in touch with the earth. We sat in the late winter sun and soaked up the surroundings. Bliss.
Afterward we headed to the university for a screening of the Dead Poets Society put on by the Uni Poetry club. The Dead poets society always stirs me up and I always (like I’m sure is the case for others) feel moved toward creativity and spontaneity.
Afterward the poetry club and tagalongs like myself headed to the city library for National poetry day open mic. We performed a piece of collaborative poetry constructed from snippets of overheard conversations. As much as I would like to claim that, I was only along for the ride. The club has put it together earlier in the week. Nevertheless, it was a lot of fun.
The competition that followed was absolutely awe-inspiring. People of all ages and experience got up and gave it a go, delivering hard hitting message. It was really inspiring to see such a creative, encouraging and supportive community at work in our city.
I met some awesome folk who have roused me to extend myself.
I love consumer treehouse from orphan black she’s my favourite clone
